No More Frowns

Here at La Belle Forme all our anti wrinkle consultations are performed by the highest trained surgeon, doctors and nurses. Our medical team has extensive experience with these products and will tailor your treatment to suit your individual needs. In addition to injectables for wrinkles, other treatments are available so it is always best to have a consultation to review your options.

Since becoming regulated and approved for cosmetic use in 2002, Botox has become one of the most popular aesthetic treatments in the beauty industry. Despite its household name, many people have little understanding about what it is made from and how it works – which is particularly important if you are considering the procedure for the first time.

The best wrinkle filler treatments tailored to you

Botox is the brand name of a neurotoxin isolated from the bacterium Clostridium Botulinum which relaxes specific muscles when injected in micro amounts into the face. It works to minimize unwanted facial lines and correct cosmetic issues such as frown lines, make the jawline appear slimmer and combat excessive sweating in the palms, feet and underarms.

With extensive experience in Botox treatments, our dedicated medical team offer bespoke treatments tailored to your individual needs. We provide a consultation to assess your expectations and determine the best course of treatment to achieve your desired look. On average it takes 2-14 days for the full effects of your treatment and so, we offer our clients a two-week review. This allows our medical team to check the treatment results and carry out any tweaks to ensure the desired results have been achieved. This holistic approach underpins our philosophy of ‘less is more’ leaving you with a natural and revitalised look.

Besides Botox, other anti-wrinkle treatments such as hyaluronic acid dermal fillers are also available at our skin clinics.

During and after Treatment

Please note we are firstly a medical clinic which means we see you for a consultation. During this time we take a history, examine you, make recommendations, and give you time to think about your options for treatment. As part of that consultation process, we may recommend treatments, such as prescription-based wrinkle-reducing treatments in the form of Botox.

The consultation, including treatment, will take around 30 minutes. We appreciate that information gathering is fundamental in deciding on cosmetic treatment and therefore you can opt to have treatment on the day of your consultation, or simply come for a discussion and book your procedure for a later date.

Botox is carefully injected in micro amounts into the facial muscles with very fine needles and as a result, is virtually painless. The most common areas for treatment are frown lines, forehead lines and laughter lines/crow’s feet. Botox can be used in other areas of the face if deemed appropriate by our medical team. The whole treatment process takes approximately 15 minutes.

Clients are often concerned about how they will look immediately after treatment. As Botox is a non-surgical procedure, you can continue to go about your day. We do advise, however, that you avoid strenuous activities such as exercise for up to a week post-treatment.

Immediately after treatment, the muscles around the injected area will be temporarily paralyzed and some clients may notice tiny red dots which quickly fade away – often before you’ve arrived home meaning that there is minimal downtime.

Frequently Asked Questions

Treatments take approximately 15 minutes. The botulinum is injected into carefully selected facial muscles with very fine needles so that it is virtually painless. After treatments you can carry on with your normal daily activities, however, we advise that you avoid anything too strenuous such as heavy exercise and avoid sun tanning and facials for the first-week post treatment.

On average it takes 2-14 days for the results to become noticeable. At La Belle Forme we offer everyone a review at 2 weeks to ensure the desired results have been achieved. Any tweaks or top ups can be carried out at the 2 week review to ensure optimal results.

Everyone is different but an average treatment lasts 4-5 months.

The most common areas for botulinum treatments and the areas that yield the best results are:

  • frown lines
  • forehead lines
  • laughter lines/crows feet

Botulinums can be used in other parts of the face if appropriate. Your clinician will advise you further. An increasingly popular treatment is the botulinum brow lift, a technique used to create the impression of a higher brow arch and reverse the drooping that often creeps in with increasing age. Ask Dr Ward or Haley for more details.

  • It is not recommended that pregnant or breastfeeding women have botulinum treatments.
  • Some (less commonly used) antibiotics should not be taken at the same time as your botulinum treatments.
  • Anyone with a neuromuscular disorder should not have botulinum injections.

Your clinician can advise you further about these cautions.
